Paid Media & Ads Intelligence — Planet Paaduks (planetpaaduks.in)
Prepared 2026-08-27. All spend/performance figures are proxies derived from public ad-library signals, not platform-reported data, except where explicitly marked "directly observed." Live collection date: 2026-08-27.
1. Snapshot
Planet Paaduks runs a mid-to-high spend-intensity, performance-led paid program across two channels — Meta (Facebook + Instagram) and Google (Shopping/Display) — with a clear discount-and-gifting backbone and light lifestyle/brand awareness creative. As of 27 Aug 2026 the brand has 6 active Meta ads (all running as "multiple versions") plus a substantial 64-ad Google footprint indexed under its verified legal entity "Funky Kalakar Private Limited," many carrying visible discount badges (−14% to −57%). The headline finding: this is a direct-response advertiser leaning on a continuously-refreshed product feed and aggressive discounting, with almost no India-specific payment messaging, no regional-language creative, and no visible structured retargeting — leaving clear, named whitespace. One operational risk also surfaced: two active Meta ads promote product names ("Mango Deluge," "Poca Black Card Holder") that are not present in the current 92-SKU live catalog, suggesting stale dynamic-creative feed output that can land clicks on dead or generic pages.
2. Creative Strategy
The active Meta set is small, uniform, and catalog-feed driven. Three of six ads were fully readable; the remaining three share identical creative templates.
Hook-type distribution (6 active Meta ads, observed):
- Aspirational / lifestyle — 3 of 6 (~50%): "Step into pairs that do more than match your outfit; they elevate your mood. Your perfect pair is still awaiting." / "Elevated comfort. Timeless design. Footwear that complements every outfit and keeps up with every day."
- Offer/gifting-led — 1 of 6 (~17%): the Gift Card ad (₹1,000).
- Product/feature-led — 2 of 6 (~33%): the two product-specific ads (Mango Deluge, Poca Black Card Holder), though both lean on the same lifestyle body copy.
Funnel-stage distribution:
- TOFU (awareness/lifestyle) — ~50% (the two lifestyle-headline ads).
- BOFU (direct-response) — ~50% (product + gift-card Shop Now ads).
- MOFU — thin; no comparison/objection-handling creative observed.
Copy framework & CTA: All ads use a single shared body block — "Discover premium footwear that blends style, comfort, and value. Designed by footwear experts for men & women, every pair reflects ethical craftsmanship, transparent processes, and long-lasting wear. ✅Free Shipping ✅ Step into heritage with Planet Paaduks." — a benefits-led, brand-narrative frame (ethical craftsmanship, heritage, free shipping). Every ad carries a "Shop Now" CTA; no "Learn More," "Send Message," or lead-gen CTAs.
Representative examples (described, not quoted at length):
- Lifestyle/mood — opens on an emotional, identity-led line about footwear elevating mood; resolves to a "Poca Black Card Holder" product card (note: that product is not in the live catalog).
- Comfort/design — leads with "Elevated comfort. Timeless design…"; resolves to "Mango Deluge | Women's Vegan Shoes" (also not in the live catalog).
- Gifting — same comfort/design headline; resolves to the Gift Card (₹1,000), which does exist on-site.
3. Offer & Testing Patterns
Offer architecture: Meta copy advertises no explicit discount ("X% off") — it leans on free shipping and brand value framing. The real discount engine lives on Google, where 64 ads display discount badges from −14% up to −57% (e.g., −44%, −28%, −57%, −53%, −36%, −14% observed in the live Transparency Center). The brand also operates a live "For discount" collection on-site. This splits the offer strategy cleanly: Google = hard discount (Shopping/Display feed); Meta = soft value + free shipping. Discount depth is deep and consistent — aligned with the business-analysis finding of ~48% average off-MRP across the catalog, i.e., a structurally discount-dependent pricing model.
Testing sophistication — structured variant testing (observed): Every one of the 6 active Meta ads is flagged "This ad has multiple versions," meaning concurrent creative variants run per concept. Combined with new start dates across three consecutive months (24 Jun, 7 Jul, 17–25 Aug 2026), this indicates an active, funded testing cadence rather than a set-and-forget presence. The Google feed (64 ads) similarly implies continuous catalog refresh. Read: structured_testing at the variant level, high creative velocity.
4. Paid Search Presence
Split into observed / estimated / category-baseline, per method:
- Observed (live SERP spot-checks, 2026-08-27): The brand does not appear in paid slots for non-branded category terms ("vegan shoes india buy online," "upcycled footwear India sustainable sandals") — those are held by Birkenstock, GreenSole, Asian Footwears, etc. It does surface on branded/commercial-intent queries: "planet paaduks discount/coupon" returns its own "For discount" collection and third-party coupon aggregators (GoZeroC, Nitro Rewards). This confirms the brand protects its branded + discount queries but is absent from generic category auction — a meaningful top-of-funnel paid-search gap versus competitors like Neeman's/GreenSole.
- Estimated: No usable SpyFu/SimilarWeb paid-keyword export was retrievable in this pass (modeled tools returned directory/login results, not brand data). Treated as unknown rather than guessed.
- Category baseline (context only): For Indian fashion/apparel D2C, non-brand CPC typically runs ₹5–25 and branded ₹2–8 — directional market context, not a brand-specific figure.
Cross-check with Google Transparency: The 64 Google ads confirm a real, active Google paid program (Shopping/Display) — so the absence of non-brand Search-text paid slots is a genuine Search-text gap, not a Transparency-Center coverage artifact. Google paid presence is real and material; it was missed in the earlier business pass, which only checked Meta.
5. Country-Market Adaptation — Tier: PARTIAL
Applying India-specific signals to the collected ads:
- Payment-method messaging: None of the readable Meta ads mention COD, UPI, BNPL/no-cost EMI, or prepaid incentives — despite the brand running GoKwik (checkout/RTO) and Releasit COD Fee apps on-site, and India's well-known COD/RTO friction. Google discounts are shown but with no India-payment overlay either. The brand is choosing not to address the #1 India checkout friction point in its ad copy.
- Regional language: All creative is English-only. No Hindi/Tamil/Telugu/Marathi or other regional variants observed across the active Meta or Google set — signaling metro/English-fluent urban targeting, leaving tier-2/3 demand unaddressed in paid.
- RTO-consciousness signals: No size-guide/order-confirmation messaging in the readable Meta ads (a prior size-guide video ad existed in the Jun–Jul window per the earlier library pull, but is not in the current active set). Indirect RTO mitigation in ads = weak/absent today.
- Festival / sale calendar: Active ad start dates cluster in Jun (EOSS), Jul, and mid–late Aug (Independence Day / Raksha Bandhan window) — but the creative itself shows no festival-specific theming (no Diwali, Rakhi, or independence messaging in the copy). The calendar is therefore flat/non-seasonal in creative, even if volume ticks up in sale months.
Overall: discounts are used (Google), but country-specific payment, language, and festival adaptation are largely absent → Partial country readiness, with clear weak spots.
6. Ad-to-Landing-Page Message Match (CRO bridge)
Sampled the highest-confidence and most-recent active ads against the page each CTA resolves to (8–12 sample, constrained to what is verifiable):
| Ad (Library ID / concept) | Landing page | Copy match | Visual match | Offer match | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2243512379736652 — lifestyle "step into pairs" | Generic homepage (product "Poca Black Card Holder" not in live catalog) | Partial | Weak | Partial | Lifestyle copy matches brand heritage vibe, but the named product isn't in the 92-SKU catalog, so the click likely lands on a generic/dead page, not the advertised item. |
| 1499108724993638 — "Elevated comfort" + Mango Deluge | Product LP "Mango Deluge | Women's Vegan Shoes" (not in live catalog) | Weak | Weak | Partial | Advertised product absent from current catalog → broken/redirect product ad; user doesn't reach the specific pair shown. |
| 1559527412638847 — Gift Card | /products/gift-card-1 (exists, ₹1,000) | Strong | Strong | Strong | Gift card exists at the exact LP; offer and product match the ad. |
| Google Shopping (−44%…−57% badges) | PDP / "For discount" collection | Strong | Strong | Strong | Discount badge shown in ad is honored on-site; consistent product/price continuity. |
Overall message-match: mixed-to-weak on Meta product ads, strong on Google Shopping and the Gift Card. The two broken product-name ads are concrete conversion leaks — a clicking user expecting "Mango Deluge" or "Poca Black Card Holder" does not reach that item. This is the most actionable CRO-adjacent finding and should be handed to the landing-page audit as a priority fix (refresh the Meta catalog feed / pause or relink stale product ads).
7. Whitespace & Recommendations
Named, specific gaps (most actionable first):
- Fix stale catalog-feed product ads (Meta). Two active ads promote products not in the live 92-SKU catalog. Refresh the Meta product feed or pause/relink them — they are burning spend on dead-end clicks. (High priority, CRO leak.)
- Build a non-brand Search-text program. The brand is absent from generic category auctions ("vegan shoes," "sustainable sandals") while competitors (Neeman's, GreenSole) occupy them. A modest non-brand Search/Shopping push captures top-of-funnel demand the organic blog engine can't fully cover.
- Add India payment messaging to ads. Run GoKwik + Releasit COD on-site but say nothing about COD / UPI / prepaid incentives in ad copy. A "COD available" or "extra off on prepaid/UPI" line addresses the dominant India checkout objection and can lift CTR and lower RTO.
- Launch regional-language creative. All-English, metro-only targeting leaves tier-2/3 demand on the table. Hindi (and one southern-language) variants on Meta with geo-targeting is a low-cost expansion test.
- Add structured retargeting / abandonment copy. No "still thinking about it?" / "complete your order" creative observed. A retargeting layer on the 90%-mobile audience is a standard, high-ROI addition.
- Seasonalize creative. Volume rises in sale months but copy stays generic. Themed Rakhi/Diwali/Independence-Day and EOSS creatives would lift relevance in the brand's biggest conversion windows.
- Consolidate the advertiser identity. Google ads run under the verified legal entity "Funky Kalakar Private Limited" while Meta runs under the "Planet Paaduks" Page. Confirm both are linked in the client's own ad accounts so spend, creative, and targeting report under one view (also removes the public-library name-matching limitation below).
8. Methodology Note
Sources: Meta Ad Library (India, active + all-status keyword search "Planet Paaduks," live 2026-08-27); Google Ads Transparency Center (region IN, domain planetpaaduks.in, live 2026-08-27 — 64 ads under verified advertiser "Funky Kalakar Private Limited"); live SERP spot-checks for branded/non-branded category terms; brand site product feed (92-SKU catalog) and "For discount" collection verified via Shopify storefront JSON. Spend-intensity, funnel-maturity, and testing scores are proxies built from observable public signals (ad counts, "multiple versions" flags, start-date longevity, discount badges), not platform-reported spend — except the Google advertiser-verification and discount badges, which are directly observed. We could not confirm a Meta 12-month cumulative-spend figure, so no ad-level spend number is stated as fact. Public ad libraries index by exact Page/advertiser name; ads run under a different legal entity (Funky Kalakar Private Limited on Google) or agency account will not surface under a "Planet Paaduks" brand search — with direct access to the client's Meta and Google ad accounts, this analysis would pull verified spend, creative, and targeting instead of public-library inference.
